Privacy Policy

Driplist is a curated guide to specialty coffee shops in New York City. We built it to be simple and private: the app has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking. This policy explains what little data is involved and how it is handled.
Information stored on your device
The shops you star, visits and ratings you log, and notes you write stay on your device. Shops you add yourself also remain local unless you explicitly choose "Suggest it for Driplist" while adding one. If you delete the app, locally stored data is removed with it.
Shop suggestions
If you choose "Suggest it for Driplist," the shop's name, address, neighborhood, links, map coordinates, and any optional note you entered are sent to Driplist for editorial review. The suggestion does not include your identity, email address, tasting history, ratings, starred shops, or other personal app data.
Location
If you choose the "Near me" sorting option, Driplist asks your device for your location so it can order shops by distance. Your location is used on your device for that purpose only. It is not collected, stored, or sent to us, and you can decline the permission at any time without losing other features.
Third-party services
Driplist uses a few third-party services to provide maps, shop search, and directions:
- Apple Maps: when you search to add a shop in the iOS app, your search text is sent to Apple to return matching places.
- OpenStreetMap: map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap, and addresses entered manually may be sent to its address lookup service to place the shop on the map.
- Google Maps: when you choose the Google Maps link for a shop, its name and address are passed to Google to open directions.
- Google Fonts: typefaces are loaded from Google's font service, which may receive your device's IP address as part of serving the fonts.
These requests are subject to the providers' privacy policies. We do not combine this data with anything else, and we do not use it to identify you.
What we don't do
- We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or contacts.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.
- We do not sell or share your information with anyone.
Children's privacy
Driplist is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
